Create backup when a DVD is opened for the first time – this creates a backup of your IFOs in case you mess up. It is also a repository for VOBs that are blanked and the files which contain the information about buttons and user comments. Leave this option on!
Store PgcEdit_Backup folder in parent of VIDEO_TS folder allows you to select where you want the backup folder to be stored, either within the VIDEO_TS folder or in its parent folder, alongside VIDEO_TS. Storing it in either location will not create issues and will not affect the burning of your project (if you burn with PgcEdit or ImgBurn) however, you may run into conflicts if you are working on several projects, each storing their backup folders in the parent folder.
Automatically load and save user’s comments and labels in backup folder: Check to load and save user PGC comments and GPRM labels from the backup folder. If this is unchecked and there are comments and labels, PgcEdit will prompt you for a location to save them when you save the DVD. You may import the comments from this location on re-opening the project.
Selecting Automatically launch ‘Fix number of streams in VMGM/VTSI_MAT’ will launch the Fix number of streams function when the DVD is opened and offer to fix the stream tables. This is not launched again on re-opening a DVD (using File → Reopen DVD or Ctrl + r).
Set Default Provider ID allows you to choose the default Provider ID when you save a DVD. There are 3 choices:
· PgcEdit [version] - set the Provider ID as PgcEdit, together with the current version number.
· User defined, where you can define your own default string, including a blank string if you wish.
· Never change it - makes no changes to the Provider ID.
You can also manually enter a Provider ID at any time - see the DVD Menu or use the button on the Toolbar.
When saving, leave at least 32k of space between IFO and BUP is a way of ensuring that errors on a disk are not fatal by placing the IFO and BUP too close together. This function will save the sector references in a non-standard way, leaving “padding” where blanking has occurred. Note that if you save the DVD in another application such as IfoEdit, DVD Shrink, Nero, these sector references will be recalculated by those programs and the padding will be lost. So only use this in conjunction with a burn through PgcEdit (or ImgTools Classic, or any burning program using mkisofs under Linux or MacOSX). See here and here for guides on burning with PgcEdit.
Burn / Create ISO SETUP launches the settings dialogue of PgcEdit’s burn function where you may make permanent or temporary changes to the settings. For more information on setting up burning with PgcEdit see Step 4 of the Burning with PgcEdit guide.
Select web browser… will allow Linux and Mac users to access easily the PgcEdit homepage, online documentation and DVD-Replica online help in the Command Editor. It can also be used under Windows to select an alternate browser such as Firefox or Google Chrome.
