Amazon is rolling out a new PS3 hardware deal. Buy the PS3 for the discounted price of $389.99 (normally $399.99), and you also get a free DualShock 3 wireless controller valued at $43.
Amazon is celebrating Father’s day with a fairly impressive series of Blu-ray sales. I say series because there are going to be several different sales with different themes leading up to Father’s Day, and each sale will focus on a particular category of discs, such as Action or Comedy. First up is Action, and Amazon has assembled 128 Blu-ray titles (as of last count) all discounted and starting from $13.95. When this sale ends, Comedy will be next, followed by TV shows, and Drama.

This is one of those deals that I actually take part in before I post here, because I just can’t resist. You can now buy the complete The West Wing series boxset, that’s 7 seasons, 44 discs and over 6000 minutes of quality television, for under £50! Which works out be more little more than a quid per disc.
Shipping costs are the same as your usual single/dual disc release, so it’s nothing really. And for our US visitors, it works out to be under $80 for the whole series, with shipping. The same boxset is selling for nearly $200 right now on Amazon.com (and locally in Australia, more than $500 to buy the individual series separately). You will also get VAT discount if you are an overseas buyer. Of course, these discs are region coded for region 2, so overseas buyers beware. But if that’s not a problem, then hurry and grab the box set because these type of deals usually don’t last for very long.
Buy The Complete West Wing for £49.98.
Update: I’ve received my copy. It appears that the discs are dual region encoded (for both region 2 and region 4), so Australian buyers should be able to take advantage of this deal. Note that I only tested discs from the first, fourth and seventh season, as I haven’t had time to test the other seasons yet, but it’s unlikely they are anything but dual region encoded (in fact, the 4th and 7th seasons are also encoded for region 5).
Update 2: For the record, all the discs in the set are encoded for region 2 and 4 (and some of the later series discs are encoded for region 5 as well).
26 titles starting at $15.99 stars in this new Blu-ray sale from Amazon. Titles include Oliver Stone’s W., the Korean horror/monster film, The Host, Vantage Points, a Zombie Bundle featuring Day/Dawn of the Dead and Evil Dead II and more.
There are a few other similar on-going Blu-ray sales you might be interested in:
Ten Blu-ray titles from Universal’s range have been discounted up to 50%, which is just another way of saying that they’re all $16.49 (except End of Days at $14.99).
This could be Amazon.com’s biggest ever buy 2 get 1 free sale for Blu-ray (Amazon UK has had a similar sale going on for ages). A massive 260+ titles are available to choose from from various studios. There are too many titles to list, but just from looking at the first page, there’s 300, I Am Legend, I Robot and Rambo.
Amazon are now discounting several hit releases to $14.99, and it does not seem to be in a set sale, so prices could go up at any moment. (more…)
Amazon is celebrating Earth Day by offering up to 50% off selected nature Blu-ray titles, including the award winning Planet Earth series (a must-have for any HD fan, for the demo quality footage). The BBC HD Natural History Collection, which includes Planet Earth, as well as the series Wild China, Galapagos and Ganges, will be good value if you’re BBC doc fan.
