Encoding Utility 2001 is a data rate and video size calculator, featuring three calculations when encoding data on to a medium, and a aspect ratio calculation for video encoding.
To encode data on to a medium, three variables are set: the data rate, media size, and run time. For example, if you are encoding a video cd, with a video run time of 2 hours, and a media size of 650 mb, the program will calculate a 739.556 kilobit/second data rate. If you are encoding an mp3 cd, with a data rate of 128kb/s and a media size of 650 mb, the program will calculate 11.5556 hours of music. The program can solve for the data rate, media size, and run time.
When encoding video, the source is in a certain aspect ratio. This ratio must be maintained if you are lowering the resolution. This ratio calculator calculates the lower possible video resolutions while maintaining the aspect ratio, as well as the ability for these numbers to be divisible by 16.
