The single layer (BD-RE) disc's can hold up to a ginormormous 25GB of any type of data
Traxdata, a widely used brand of optical media in Europe has just released their Blu-Ray recordable media (BD-RE). Due to the vast storage capacity necessary to support HD quality video, Blu-ray media is the perfect medium to support the highest quality High Definition video available today (up to 1920 x 1080 at 40Mbit/sec). When played-back with a Blu-ray Disc player the media provides image sharpness, digital surround sound, improved contrast and vivid colours for a superior cinema quality viewing experience.

For various other digital data such as music, documents and images the Blu-ray format simply allows users to vastly increase the amount they can store on the one disc. Through utilising the massive storage capacity and its rewrite function, a 25GB Blu-ray Disc can offer the functionality of a large removable hard disk drive. This provides greater sales opportunities through the smaller business and home office channels as an alternative high capacity storage solution.
