The Sony-owned video Web site Grouper has since been renamed to "Crackle" with a whole new objective for a new target audience
The site will focus on video from up-and-coming talent, such as comedians and animators, rather than the everything-goes approach of sites such as YouTube.
Crackle also offers syndication across Sony devices, such as the PSP, VAIO and BRAVIA; IPTV; and Web networking and viral distribution on other sites such as MySpace, Facebook, hi5, AOL, Piczo and WordPress.
