Toshiba issues a recall for a portable DVD player that uses AC power adapters
According to a statement released by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, Toshiba issued a recall for around 142,000 AC adapter units.

The company decided to issue the recall after two reports of minor damages to the bottom of the DVD caused by overheating adapters.

The DVD player in question is model number SD-P1600 with AC adapter model ADPV16, which was manufactured in China and sold in the US between January 2005 and April 2006.

Consumers using these products were advised to unplug the adapter and contact Toshiba for a replacement.
