ABC News has a review for the KiSS DP-508 DVD player on their website. The KiSS DP-508 is probably better described as a mini-computer or media center than a DVD player, since the DVD playback portion of the player is probably the least exciting of all the features present. Apart from the usual VCD/SVCD support, the KiSS DP-508 also supports DivX, XviD, MP3, WMA, Ogg Vorbis, Shoutcast streaming audio, MPEG-4 and Photo/JPEG CD. It also has Ethernet support, and a built in 80GB hard disk so you can easily transfer all your media files from your main computer to the KiSS.
At $500, the KiSS is not cheap compared to the array of DVD players on the market today, but compared to a home-theatre PCs (HTPCs) that does the same thing but do not have the same polished standalone feel, it is good value (yes, HTPCs can do more, but media playback is probably the most used feature of HTPCs).
