Analyst saying the adoption rate is no where near the same for DVD to Blu-ray
Most consumers were ecstatic to switch from VHS to DVD. However the switch from DVD to Blu-ray is coming to a grinding halt. Sony did actually better before when they actually had a competitor.

Now that the format war is over against HD-DVD, you would naturally think that Blu-ray sales would skyrocket. Not so much!

The price is a contributing factor to the slow adoption of Blu-ray Disc, as even the cheapest player is hundreds more than an upscaling DVD player.

Because it's more future proof (I don't have a Blu-ray player)
I don't buy Blu-ray combos
