Today Apple will be launching a software application store with 500 programs for download, some which are totally free. iTunes was also updated to version 7.7, which is required to access the applications in the store.
These applications are for both the iPhone (original or 3G model) and the iPod Touch. There is also a remote tool that allows users to control their iTunes or Apple TV from their device as well as various applications for use with Facebook, Google Mobile, eBay and Twitter.
Technically the store and 3G phone aren't supposed to release until tomorrow but, users have already found the hidden link to the store. 25% of the application are totally free while the others range from $0.99 to $9.99.
You will of course need the 2.0 firmware to actually use the apps on your device. You may download the 2.0 firmware here.
