The DirecTV2PC software gives you the ability for several people to watch their video on any monitor without any extra hardware.  Cyberlink actually powers the DirecTV2PC software but as of right now the page is non functional.

DirectTV2PC will most likely work only with Windows and will be bound to copy protection limitations.  That means restricted content cannot be copied for playback outside of the DirecTV DVR.

TiVo offers something very similar called TiVo Desktop.
