A hospital in England has been using the Wii Fit as a way to help people get more comfortable with their new prosthetic limbs, claiming that the balance board helps people understand how to use and control a replacement limb better and retain balance.
I would have much rather played on a Wii Fit in physical therapy than run on a treadmill for 20 minutes straight. I foresee the Wii Fit greatly helping the rehabilitation industry on all levels.
