Netflix is throwing around the idea of sending out 1080p streams with 5.1-channel surround sound at some point later this year.

Thats all fine and dandy but, the other side to the equation is can people personal ISPs dish out the bandwith to support such a service?

Heck you need a steady 5Mbps connection just to stream 720p content.
