To compete with Apple and its dominating iPhone, Sony is developing a new lineup of handheld products, including a smart phone capable of downloading and playing video games.

It is also rumored that Sony is developing a portable device that has the same capabilities of netbooks, electronic-book readers and handheld-game machines.

Both the new smart phone and the multifunction iPad like device are expected out later this year.
