TiVo has been secretly working on a new remote that uses Bluetooth technology and has a QWERTY keyboard to aid searching and finding content.
Since TiVo doesn't have Bluetooth radios built in, the remote comes with a USB dongle that is plugged into an available USB port on TiVo Series3, TiVo HD, or TiVo Premiere boxes.
The new remotes will look pretty similar to the current remotes but, people who handled the prototypes said they felt cheap and flimsy. Until the design is completely finished, we won't know for sure.
