Sony has announced a paid premium subscription for the PS3 Network called PlayStation Plus which gives you exclusive beta invites, early access to demos, downloadable content and other exclusive perks.

By being a "Plus" member, you get special member only discounts, free games, and other items at the PlayStation Store.  For a limited time, if you buy a one year package for $49.99 you get three additional bonus months free, a $17.99 value.
