The results and analysis for Blu-ray (and DVD) sales for the week ending 12th March 2011 has just been posted. While Blu-ray market share was down compared to last week, it was still a good result for Blu-ray, although a lot of it was mainly due to the increasingly alarming decrease in DVD sales (it was down 30%+ compared to the same week last year).
Bambi and Jackass 3 shared the top two spot, an eclectic pair if there ever was one, while The Walking Dead did quite well on Blu-ray (fantastic series, BTW, but not enough episodes unfortunately). But even with new releaes doing well on Blu-ray, and Blu-ray revenue up compared to last year, there was still a combine $47 million loss for Blu-ray and DVD combined.
