The results and analysis for Blu-ray (and DVD) sales for the week ending 26th March 2011 has just been posted. Despite some new releases, Blu-ray revenue failed to advanced on last week's figures, and market share was down as well, albeit slightly. The Tourist and Yogi Bear dominated, while Skyline was a distant third.
What is more alarming though is the almost record decline in terms of revenue compared to the same time last year, with both Blu-ray and DVD sales down by more than 40% (in DVD's case, sales were less than half of what they were last year). However, this could easily be explained away by the different quality of releases on both formats between this year and the last.
