The results and analysis for Blu-ray (and DVD) sales for the week ending 21st May 2011 has just been posted. Despite having four new releases all in the top 10, including the number one title, and also the top 10 re-entry of a older release that managed to obtain a Blu-ray market share of more than 91%, overall Blu-ray market share and revenue both fell compared to the last week, making it the worst week since mid February in terms of Blu-ray market share.
The Mechanic was the week's best seller, but the best DVD seller was Justin Bieber's Never Say Never, and the Blu-ray results can be explained by the poor Blu-ray performance of the Bieber documentary, which only managed 16% market share for the Blu-ray version.
