The results and analysis for Blu-ray (and DVD) sales for the week ending 9th July 2011 has just been posted. A breather for new releases, as there were only two, and none even made the top 2. The top 2 were, in fact, the same titles as the week before, LotR: Extended Trilogy and Sucker Punch. 13 Assassins was actually the week's best selling new release, at 3rd place, while Hobo with a Shotgun at 7th was the only new release.
Interestingly enough, both of the new releases actually sold more copies on Blu-ray than on DVD, and so the recent trends doesn't seem to be just limited to more famous new releases. If this trend continues, than Disney's recent decision to delay the DVD only release of the latest 'Pirates' movie might just become standard policy for Disney and even other studios.
