The results and analysis for Blu-ray (and DVD) sales for the week ending 3rd March 2012 is in. Not a big week for new releases, despite the release of the multi Academy Award winning Hugo, which was the best selling release of the week by a small margin.
This was one of those rare weeks where Blu-ray's market share actually fell compared to the same week last year. Both DVD and Blu-ray revenue fell as well. This is easily explanable though, as this time last year, Bambi was released as a Blu-ray exclusive, which raised Blu-ray sales and market share figures above normal.
