The results and analysis for Blu-ray (and DVD) sales for the week ending 10th March 2012 is in. Immortals was the week's best selling Blu-ray, along with 5 other new releases (none of them box office smash hits, mind you), that helped Blu-ray and DVD revenue to both rise compared to last week.
So from last week, where both DVD and Blu-ray revenue fell compared to the same period last year, to this week, where both rose compared to the same period. It just goes to show that revenue is still very much driven by new releases, especially on Blu-ray.
