Instead of converting XVID files (very slow), SimpleMovieX makes them playable on AppleTV, iPad, iPhones and iPods by mutating into MPEG4 Video (very fast)
Improvements:
- "Scale segment" now defaults duration to pasteboard duration
- Artworks from Amazon are now high resolution
- Copy/Paste metadata now also includes artwork
- Improved audio waveform (scale now based on 99% distribution, not on peak)
- Can turn-off "complete" sound
- Warning if text in metadata exceeds 255 characters (will truncate)
FIXED Issues:
- Crash when opening very short audio files
- Error -2010 or other related problems after saving, or closing then re-opening modified version of a movie file
- Check Updates would be reseted to "checked" if upon first use, we uncheck it, then app crashes

- FIXED Issues:
- Saving in AVI format doesn't work fine with Perian codec, version 1.1.3 (but works with version 1.0). Fixed.
- In multi-language movies, saving in AVI doesn't always saves the selected audio track. Fixed.

- Search pane displays only part of the movie, or doesn't refresh correctly. Fixed.

- Crash when opening a mov file with multiple references inside a same track. Fixed.
- DV PAL movies are now resized to 768x576, respecting native vertical resolution.
- Merging by droping several movies could be halted by warning messages. Fixed.
- The files that SimpleMovieX opens remained locked until the application quits (preventing deletion from Trash, even if document has been closed). Fixed.
- Using a file name several times for saving during a SimpleMovieX session would cause confusion. Fixed.
- Saving of MP4 files over 4GB in size, or containing RTP tracks, would fail due to size check error. Fixed.
- When Cut actions are used while a chapter name is being edited, it gives unexpected result. Fixed.

- MP4 saving hangs if the movie had previously chapters, but not at the time of the saving. Fixed.
- International characters in metadata were not properly displayed. Fixed.
- SimpleMovieX sometimes created a dummy Copyright medata "BBBB..." after saving/exporting.
- Fixed crasher bugs in Panther: when hovering the Gallery, when entering chapter names with international characters (Unicode encoding)
- Just after chapter creation, the keystrokes go to chapter name field, even menu shortcuts like Command-S, giving unpredictiable results. Fixed.

- NEW Features:
- Support for multi-audio movies. Possible to select language, remove unused audio tracks.
- Metadata is now detected. SimpleMovieX can visualize it and proposes MetaX and iTunes to edit it.
- Movie Information now reports languages, media source references and metadata.
- Poster Frame can be set in mov and mp4 files.
- Unicode encoding is used for Chapter names if required. Perfect compatibility with iTunes.
- Edition of Chapter markers is much faster now. Editing clips is also significantly faster.

- FIXED Issues:
- Incompatibilities between tagging with iTunes or MetaX, and MP4 chaptered files written by SimpleMovieX.
- MP4 files containing a hidden chapter track are now detected. SimpleMovieX shows the chapter track if you want.
- Pasteboard Text content was overwritten by "Corrupted Movie" after relaunching SimpleMovieX.
- After a crash or Force Quit, SimpleMovieX was no longer able to restore edited documents (Autosave)
- Files without name extension (mov, dv, ...) do not open. (Fix applies to Tiger and Leopard only)
- Protected and compressed QuickTime movies still cannot open, but now give the appropriate message.
- Audio resync in AVI files was not always be kept after saving.
- SWEATING the Interface details:
- New keyboard shortcuts for navigation to avoid conflict with Leopard Spaces.
- Smarter chapterizing flow, with automatic focus switch between timeline, search and chapter pane. Easier to use than to explain.
- Added "Paste Chapters at current time" to avoid confusion. Regular "Paster Chapters" now always works as expected.
- Information and Warning dialogs that tend to be repetitive can now be skipped.
- A warning dialog is shown for MP4 movies with several audio tracks.
- Non-obstrusive info button added to window if the movie contains special features (multi-audio, metadata, ...)
- Position of a new document window now returns to default if all windows have been closed.
- Scan automatically starts when Search Pane opens.
- Hovering on a movie in Gallery displays its full path.
- Snapback button disappears when it has been used
Version 3.6.3

- NEW: Chapter markers can be copied and pasted. A plain text document can be used to add chapters in a movie.
- After editing, AVI files with Microsoft ADPCM audio could loose audio. Fixed
- After editing, AVI files with non-integer frames per second (in particular NTSC) can have audio synchronization problems. Fixed
- Improved support of MP3 audio in edited AVI files, better compatibility with Windows PCs.
- Audio popping noise every few seconds in some AVI files edited by SimpleMovieX. Fixed.
- When merging files, in particular MP4 files or in case of duplicate chapter names, the chapter markers coming from the pasted file would be lost. Fixed.
- Blank chapter marker is created at time 0 when saving MP4 files even if one is already present at time 0. Fixed.

Version 3.6.2

- Saving in AVI format sometimes gives an empty file. Fixed
- AVI files with DVI ADPCM audio can loose synch or even full audio track after editing. Fixed
- AVI files with MP2 audio can loose audio and become corrupt after editing. Fixed
- Saving in AVI format can produce a slow motion movie with normal-speed audio. Fixed
- Saving in AVI format after resynchronizing audio (delaying audio vs video) gives unexcepted result. Fixed
- SimpleMovieX sometimes hangs at the end of saving operation. Now correctly reports a saving error.
- "Folder not valid for saving" message shown when folder is indeed writeable. Fixed
- Computer hangs after saving to a folder whose path contains non-ASCII characters like Japanese Kanji, diacritics, ... In case of plain Save, this would delete the original file. Fixed
- Adding chapters to an m4v file no longer deletes iTunes artworks.
- "Split by chapter" and "Batch export" could crash after the first file is written. Fixed
- Batch Export could be launched without having choosen the destination folder, giving unexpected results. Fixed
- Inconsistent behaviour of Batch Export when "skip" setting is used for one or several files. Fixed
- Chapter markers added with SimpleMovieX may not show up at correct time in iTunes/iPod. Fixed
- Suddenly, dropping a movie file in new window no longer opens the file. Fixed
- Bar and messages indicating progress in Batch Export stop refreshing while operation continues normally. Fixed
- Stuttering playback of some movies once chapters are created. Fixed

- No more risk of replacing a folder by a saved file if the save browser is used during saving operation.

- Plain save (in place, not as, Ref, or Export) now displays correctly progress information under Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
- Saving in place AVI files could crash at the end (but file was written correctly). Fixed.

- SimpleMovieX using a lot of CPU even when idle due to a view refresh cycle (Leopard). Fixed
- TAB, I, O keystrokes when document window is blank display garbage. Fixed
- Batch Export broken, after the first file it doesn't work. Fixed
- Batch Export table can be edited (add and reorder files) during export operation. Fixed
- Second Save/Save As with AVI file doesn't work, a dialog "dummy.avi cannot be found" is displayed. Fixed
- SimpleMovieX lets you save H264 video in AVI container. Resulting file is corrupt. Fixed, AVI no longer an option.
- M4V files open by default in keyframe-sticky mode, but it's not necessary. Fixed
- Extended Save panel stays active during saving operations. Fixed by collapsing it when saving starts.
- If Save panel opens in extended layout, then we collapse it and save, it doesn't disappear at the end of saving operation. Fixed
- Undo and Redo menus do not display correctly (Leopard). Fixed
- "Drag Movie o edit here" message not displayed in blank documents (Leopard). Fixed
- Depending on installed codecs, long AVI files (with multiple RIFFs) could open with repeated chunk of movie at the end. Fixed
- Crash when trimming, or empty saved movie if movie has very long duration (4 hours and beyond). Fixed
- Problems after deleting last chapter while its name was being edited. Fixed
