You may wish to add a cell to the cell table (for example, you might have deleted a cell by mistake, or are constructing a new menu PGC from the VOBs, or you may be creating some sort of “Play All” PGC – see also Title → New Play All Title). This is easily done in PgcEdit.
You may add either an existing cell, all the cells from a VOB ID or create a new blank cell. You may position the new cell(s) either at the end (most usual and the default situation) or the beginning of the PGC and optionally, create a new program and (if a title PGC) a new chapter (if you do this, remember to alter the scene selection menu, if one is present). This is very useful if you wish to create a new “dummy” chapter at the end of the PGC, to enable you to easily skip to the end of the title with the remote (assuming no PUOs are present prohibiting this – for example, on many DVDs, VOB PUOs exist to stop you chapter skipping through the credits – remove them with the PUO Plugin, if you wish).
If you are adding an existing cell in the VOB, move the sliders to the VOB/Cell ID you wish to add as the new cell. You can only select a VCID that is currently present in the IFO files (for example, if you have removed cells earlier and they are not re-used these will be inaccessible. In this case, use the Play All Plugin to recover them).
As you add new cells, PgcEdit makes a computation about the cell flags based on the VCIDs, the entry sector of the new cell and the end sector of the cell immediately preceding the new one.
Click in Create a new blank VOB cell if you want to add a new blank cell (for example, a tiny cell at the end of the PGC). In this case, the VOB will be updated. It’s a good idea to back it up in case you wish to restore your backup, but this can take a bit of time on large VOBs and is not strictly necessary.
You also have the option of rebuilding the time map of the title (if this is a title PGC). It’s unnecessary to do this if you have only added a tiny cell at the end of the PGC, but is worthwhile in other instances (you can delay rebuilding the time map if you have other edits and use the Title → Rebuild Time map functions instead)
Again, if you have made an error, you can cancel out of the PGC Editor or just remove the cell.
